![]() ![]() And in fact, Into the Nexus follows up from the rest of the PS3 games, so unless you're willing to go back and start with at least Tools of Destruction, you'll have to jump in midstream one way or another. Rift Apart follows Into the Nexus, but not in any way that will limit your enjoyment of Rift Apart if you don't play it. I have to believe most of the backlash against the game is that it just isn't as good as the earlier games. (It was made as a sort of tie-in to the disastrously bad movie, and it shows.) It also has one of the most laughably bad voice acting jobs I've ever heard in a video game. Gameplay-wise it's (mostly) fine, especially for a first-timer, but the story is more a series of vignettes and feels choppy. I just did another replay of it and liked it more than I remembered. ![]() I didn't realize until reading this thread that people hated it, but it's fine. If you've never played any of the games before, 2016 introduces the major characters and is worth playing.
